Keyboard reference

The modifier written Ctrl/ is Ctrl on Windows and Linux and on Mac. Ctrl+Space is Ctrl everywhere, including Mac.

Open it with Ctrl+Space, type a command, press Enter.

Editing a widget block’s source:

Ctrl/+Space Insert a reference to a page (opens the picker)

Escape Close the picker; press again to cancel editing

With a task row focused (not while editing its title):

Tab or Ctrl/+] Nest under the task above (make it a subtask)
Shift+Tab or Ctrl/+[ Un-nest one level

Inline fields (new list, new section, rename): Enter saves, Escape cancels.

With the outline focused:

Keys Action
/ Move between rows
/ Move between columns. In the name column, collapses the row (or jumps to its parent) and expands it
Tab / Shift+Tab Indent / outdent the row
Enter or F2 Edit the current cell (Enter on an empty outline adds the first row)
Any letter or number Start editing the cell with that character
Delete Delete the row (asks first if it has children)
Backspace Same, in the name column only

While editing a cell:

Keys Action
Enter Save. In the name column this also adds a new row below; elsewhere it moves down one row
Tab / Shift+Tab Save, then indent / outdent
Escape Cancel the edit
Keys Action
Enter or Space on a locked vault in the sidebar Open the unlock prompt
  • Escape closes the topmost dialog, popover or context menu. If several are stacked, each press closes one.
  • Enter confirms single-line inputs (titles, names).
